Hair rinse and hair color are generally displayed much too close on
salons, store shelves, in the market etc--yet their uses are very
different. While hair
rinse is a non-damaging, temporary change, hair color is longer-lasting.
Effects
: Hair rinse will help you achieve a different hair color
temporarily. It's great for an event or to test out how a certain shade
may look with your skin tone. Hair color is considered a permanent
change because it contains ammonia and other chemicals that change the
hair's color for an extended period. To make a big change, hair color is
better than hair rinse.
Considerations
: Permanent hair dyes have a tendency to change the natural
pigment of hair. If used often, hair dyes can cause hair to become
coarse or damaged.
Misconceptions
: Not all hair color is permanent. There are semi-permanents,
temporary dyes, demi-permanent and natural dyes. Occasional coloring
will not ruin hair. As with everything, use moderation.
